I don't think talcum powder can cause you any harm if taken internally, unless you eat loads of it. If you're concerned though, go and check it out.

If there is a risk of poisoning (which I doubt), there will be information on the label.
Some powder probably got in the back of your throat and triggered your gag reflex. Although it's probably an awful feeling, I see no permanent harm. Talc is non toxic.
