What is so great about loose powder makeup?

I can see where it is nice for foundation, but for eye shadow, I don't like it at all. What is so great about loose powder makeup?
Personal preference.

I prefer loose shadows over pressed shadows, as I find they are easier to control, offer more pigmentation, and blend better. What is so great about loose powder makeup?
to the asker - are you using eyeshadow primer? loose e/s doesn't show up on me unless I use primer. with primer, I looooove loose mineral shadows. Report Abuse

Agreed with Sarah. Actually, none of my shadows (pressed or loose) show up without or even WITH a primer. My trick is to apply my primer (Urban Decay Primer Potion), let it dry for 5 minutes and then pat on a sheer layer of cream shadow! That way, the shadow REALLY sticks to the lid. Report Abuse

Oh, and you can also apply loose shadows wet. Just mix the shadow with some water to make a paint, and apply to the lid. With loose shadows, I find they last longer, I always run out of pressed powders fast. Try applying loose shadows over matte shadows for sheer sparkle :) Report Abuse

Now when you say Loose powder make up do you mean.. the mineral make ups?.. or just loose powder?... cause there are both... I'm refering to loose powder (translucent powders, or pigments).. not mineral....

sometimes it just gives a matte shine free finish to a look (translucent powder).... use it how you feel... you don't have to use it with eye shadow... I only use powder on my T-zone where I have alot of shine and I don't like shine...

some people don't even need powder in fact it makes them look worse... it can settle into wrinkles or cracks on some people (loose powder and mineral eye powders... )...

or matte looks flatten out some peoples faces and dull colors and contours.... ((just translucent face powders)
well, for eyeshadow it's really good for dramatic stuff. better pigmentation sometimes.
Personally I don't like face make up, I only like eye make up.

They say it lets your skin breathe, but I don't think so.
