What's the point of foundation and what's the point of pressed or loose powder? What do they do? (10 points)!?

I'm still new to make up. I just want to know what a foundation does specifically and what the point of pressed or loose powder is. If concealer already exists..then whats the function of foundation and/or powder?

Foundation gives you a clear complexion.


It gives you a clear canvas to work on.


I use powder to set the foundation.

Concealer: Used for small areas such as under eye circles. Can be used for blemishes, although this can easily make the blemishes more noticeable.


Foundation: Comes in formulas such as liquid, loose powder, pressed powder, cream, mousse, spray, wet to dry, etc. This is used to even out the skin tone, help reduce redness. Generally used on the entire face, or can be used in specific areas such as cheeks and nose to cover redness.


Powders: These are designed to set foundation. There are pressed setting powders, which will give heavier coverage, and there are loose setting powders, which give finer results.
Both are just to even out your complexion ( get rid of small red bumps ect.). I like to use tinted moisturizer ( so its light and good for you) and then set it with transluscent loose powder. Its very light but gives you a healthy glowing look!!


Concealer is for blemishes and only goes on where you have a blemish;


foundation is for your whole face.
yah wat she said. but powders can also absorb oil n prevents shine.
Foundation is used to make your skin look flawless. It helps blend in discoloration and freckles. Pressed powder is less messy. It's pressed but it gives the same result for most cases. Loose is mostly used at home, it's not recommended for travel since it'll get everywhere. Loose may also apply on easier.
Specifically...what foundation does paired with concealer(if needed) is to even out the completion to give it balance in coloring....loose powder is used to set the foundation.
